dB Check

As a general rule, you must not ride on the track without a dB-Eater. Measurement methods vary depending on the race track. These include standard sound level measurements at half the rated revs from a distance of one metre, pass-by measurements, etc. You’ll be safest with the original exhaust system.
The original system is too loud?
Original exhaust systems are generally welcome, but they should be in perfect condition. The insulation wool tends to shift around over time, so it’s a good idea to re-stuff it every now and then.
Noise Level Gross Dölln
As organisers, we are obliged to monitor the noise levels of the bikes on site. We will therefore be carrying out stationary noise measurements from 5.00 pm on the evening before the event and from 7.30 am on the first day of the event. The measurement will be taken at a distance of one metre and at a 45° angle to the end of the exhaust pipe, at half the rated revs as stated on the type plate. The measured dB value must correspond to that stated on the motorcycle’s type plate (or registration document).
Noise Level Spreewaldring
As organisers, we are obliged to monitor the noise levels of the bikes on site. The measured dB value must correspond to that stated on the motorcycle’s type plate (or registration document). The operator also takes measurements along the track whilst driving past. However, provided the intake noise doesn’t become too loud due to modifications to the intake system, you shouldn’t encounter any problems here.
Noise Level Oscherleben
In Oschersleben, measurements are taken whilst the bike is passing by. The noise level here must not exceed 98 dB.
You shouldn’t have any problems with the dB-Eater. There is no stationary noise measurement.
Noise Level Most
New dB limit from 2018: 101 dB,
Access to the track only with a DB-Eater!
Noise Level Slovakiaring

Noise Level Brno/Brünn
No dB-Limit!
Noise Level Poznan
Stationary noise measurement whilst entering the track by pit lane staff!
The measurement is taken at a distance of one metre and at a 45° angle to the end of the exhaust, at half the rated revs as stated on the type plate. The measured dB value must not exceed the value stated on the motorcycle’s type plate. In the range up to 98 dB, the type plate or registration details are irrelevant.
