Most I 2026

At the Autodrom in Most, straight after EURO Moto, and the temperatures were finally comfortable again. The forecast had predicted rain, but luck was on our side: blue skies and a dry track. Spirits were high in the paddock, and everyone put in plenty of laps. After all, it pays to be prepared for the longer sprint races. We rounded off the day with a track walk, and the paddock soon fell quiet that evening – everyone wanted to be fresh for race day.

Tuesday morning, however, greeted us with raindrops, leaving a little more time for coffee. Around 11 am, the rain finally stopped, and the track slowly but surely began to dry. The Rookies were due out at 2 pm, but just five minutes before the start, the rain returned. With everyone on slicks, we cancelled the race and switched to an open pit lane, just as we had in the morning. SSP was scheduled for 5:15 pm, and a wet race seemed inevitable, with eleven riders lining up, seemingly ready to race on wets. This time, the opposite happened: the track was drying as the race began, and it soon became clear that the wet tyres were in for a hard time.

SSP

Only 11 of the 25 registered riders took to the grid. Not everyone fancied heading out on wets, although slicks might well have been an option just before the start. Frank Schauer lined up alone on the front row, with Christoph Graf on row two and Christian Lange on row three. Adrian Rempel and Mathias Otto followed. Franz and Christoph got away well and already had a substantial gap over the chasing pack after the opening lap. Adrian came through in third, with Mathias and Christian in tow. On lap three, Mathias and Christian both passed Adrian. Two laps later, Christian took third, but by then the leaders were miles up the road. Franz held first place, with Christoph glued to his rear wheel. On lap nine, Franz’s wet tyres began to give up, allowing Christoph to snatch the lead. Suddenly, Christian really found his pace, lapping four to five seconds faster than the leaders and visibly reeling them in. He caught the leading pair on lap ten and made fairly short work of passing Franz. Christoph was next on lap eleven. He briefly fought back a lap later, but Christian was simply too quick and took the win ahead of Christoph and Franz. Adrian regained his rhythm and managed to pass Mathias to bring home fourth. As they returned to the pits, we saw why Christian had been so fast: he was the only rider in the field who had started on slicks. With the track getting drier all the time, his tyre gamble had paid off.

Thursday brought glorious weather once again, with bright sunshine and pleasantly mild temperatures. Everyone wasted no time making up for the previous day’s rain-affected sessions. After lunch, it was the Superbikes’ turn to line up. There was no tyre gamble this time: slicks were the clear choice.

SBK

Denis Kaspar had already shown who was boss over the previous two days, claiming pole with a 1:37 ahead of Dennis Harm and Franz Schauer. Wilhelm Seitz, Michael Baczynski and Cedric Harm completed the second row. Franz had to call it a day after the warm-up lap – his Panigale had decided it didn’t fancy racing. Two crashes on lap two brought out the red flags. Neither was serious, but one bike was lying in a dangerous position, so we had to stop the race. A restart was scheduled over a reduced distance of ten laps. The front row was looking rather sparse: Dennis had been one of the riders in the gravel, and Franz was out with a technical problem. Denis won the restart too and disappeared into the distance almost immediately. With consistent laps in the 1:37s, nobody could touch him, and he took a flawless lights-to-flag victory. The battle for the remaining podium places, however, was full of action. René Grundei, starting from seventh, fought tooth and nail with Wilhelm and Cedric. It felt as though a different rider led the trio every lap. Ricardo Töpfer couldn’t quite match their pace and had Michael breathing down his neck. On the penultimate lap, Michael passed him at the end of the start-finish straight to secure fifth ahead of Ricardo. In the battling trio, Cedric began to lose touch over the final three laps and finished fourth. René got the better of Wilhelm to claim second.

After the podium ceremony, everyone still had a few sessions to enjoy in perfect weather. We had a fantastic time with you all and would like to thank every rider, helper and supporter for a brilliant event.
